About Me

Welcome!

I’m a journalist and editor with a strong foundation in research and storytelling, driven by a passion for people, place, and the planet.

I hold a First-Class Master’s degree in Politics and Social Research Methods from the University of Southampton, where I was proud to be named on the Dean’s List for academic excellence.

Currently, I’m the Editorial Team Lead at Life Publishing Group in Queensland, where I manage content across a suite of regional newspapers and lifestyle publications. My role involves overseeing editorial planning, mentoring junior writers, and contributing to major features and magazine stories. I also write Ruth 2 Reef, a popular column in the Whitsunday Life Newspaper exploring marine life and environmental initiatives across the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef.

In addition to writing, I manage the social media accounts for Core Life and Tripping magazines and have contributed photography to all of Life Publishing’s titles.

Alongside journalism, I work as a freelance proofreader and have proofed books for authors across the Whitsundays. I bring sharp attention to detail and a love of language to every project I take on.

My background spans journalism and research roles with Sky News, the University of Southampton, EcoVoice, and Trigo, alongside commercial experience as a Senior Allocator at Tesco Head Office. I also bring strong digital and social media skills from my editorial work and volunteer experience with Eco Barge.

With a background that blends media, research, and commercial insight, I offer a versatile skill set across editorial leadership, data analysis, strategic content planning, digital engagement and professional proofreading.
